Memorable Events

Stark and Bissel named to the All American team. Sharpey was national championship tournament MVP

At the Western regionals, Bissell was selected on the all tournament team, Stark was MV back and Sharpey was MV forward (others picked to the All Tournament team were Drummond, Coveno, Burke, and Bissell)

(per Jon Drummond) I got 11 stitches in my forehead after the match (a SD St player kicked me in the head on a ruck about 5-10 minutes into the match, I ran over to the side, Barney or Coder (?) ran electrical tape around my head, and I went back in). I recall how heartbreaking that loss was...and I know Uncle Vern saved my drunk ass when I inflated one of the life vests in the plane on the way back...whew! I also remember Tom Sharpy motivating all of us to give it all we had in a desperate push to win the match as time ran out.
