This was also the year we didn’t have money to stay in a hotel and we camped outside of town in tents and the 15pax vans. Of all of Holder’s team-building schemes (and this one was borne completely of necessity because of the lack of funds), I truly believe this was the catalyst for this championship season. I vividly remember being excited about hitting the Aspen night life from the comfort of our condos/hotels, then Holder dropped the bomb that we would be camping. We fried spam over the campfire, I think we had some stew, and other camp style food the first night (at least). I truthfully don’t remember any of the actual games from that weekend—I honestly couldn’t tell you how we played that weekend, but I’ll always remember hanging out around the campfires with my buddies.
