Nicole (Nikki) Jansen started playing rugby at 14 as a High School Freshman for Plymouth, MN rugby club. Playing as both Flank and 8 Man, she helped propel her team to 4 State Championships, earning All State and All Conference titles. After High School, she was accepted into the USAFA class of 2006 where, much to her dismay, head coach Alan Osur astutely noting her strength and donut-loving, moved her to the Prop position. Her senior year, as Forwards Captain, she lead her team to the elite-eight round of the national championships in the Spring of 2006. She was selected for that year as 2d team All American.
