Due to the COVID epidemic, we have our most inexperienced side in memory. The roster and turnout for this year has been spectacular, with probably the largest squad in quite a while, adding to the coaches' challenge. The season looks to be 'interesting'!
Blue Rush proved, once again, to be a highly effective recruiting fixture resulting in nearly 30 new players who will be with us going into week two. While we have graduated the majority of our rugby 15s experience, we have a talented group of new crossover athletes who will, no doubt, be quick on the uptake.
Our women's teams will once again compete in the Rocky Mountain Conference, now a hybrid DI & D2 conference. Our first team will continue to compete against our perennial D1 conference opponents, picking up BYU on October 9 as an independent non-conference match, while our second team will get valuable experience against very high caliber D2 teams in the region.
Maj. LaBouliere will be with the program for a third year as OIC and he will be joined by Maj. Liz Smith '11 who works for the Comm in the curriculum department and is an AF Women's Rugby alumna. We're immensely grateful for their commitment of time and talent.
